About the Little Rock Chapter
The Greater Little Rock Chapter is the 12th chapter chartered of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). Our chartering occurred August 16, 1958.
Activity
We are a very active chapter with many programs, projects and events throughout the year. We offer informative speakers that cover various areas of the construction industry. We also have several educational programs for children and adults. We also do a couple community service projects like the Adopt a Street Program and the Valentine’s Day Dance for the students at the Arkansas School for the Deaf. We have an annual bowling tournament each year as a major fundraiser to help us promote our programs, community service projects, and our annual scholarship.
In addition to this, we have several networking events for our members to take part in. Some of these include joint ventures with other construction related organizations. Others are special activities just for our membership.
Scholarships
In 2007, we signed an agreement with the University of Arkansas at Little Rock to offer our annual scholarship to a student enrolled at UALR in the Construction Management program. For more information about our scholarship, please contact our President.
